Welcome,

My name is Vincent Gothe and I am the founder and prospective Count of “Gothe Residency of the Arts’’ (GROTA). I am a dark-spirited illustrator, among many roles in my service to GROTA , who has dedicated my life to the arts. I am driven by the philosophy of art as a means of alchemy (the practice of transforming raw experience into visual or instrumental triumph); art as a compulsion, a lifestyle, and a deeply personal process unique to each and every human experience.

As a graduate illustrator and arts instructor specializing in helping young artists develop their artistic voice, I have witnessed firsthand the tragic lack of creative spaces tailored to the dark-spirited creators of the world. For the past several years, I have been devoutly working towards designing an artist residency and affiliated programs that may offer artists the opportunity to explore the innermost depths of their soul without fear of judgment or criticism—a place that would also offer unique opportunities to network, collaborate, market, mentor, and more.

On January 1st, 2023 I began to assemble a team of founding visionaries whose dark creative spirit and vision united with my own to bring Gothe Residency of the Arts to life. My driving belief was that uniting the individual dreams of artists was sure to wake a grandeur, and most assured reality.

Through GROTA, I pledge to offer my expanding resources as a host and eternal passion for the arts towards fostering a community of dark spirited artists. For years, the Gothe Residency of the Arts has been the beacon of my aspirations, a dream nurtured with passion and hope. It brings me immense joy to share that this dream is now on the cusp of becoming a tangible reality—all thanks to the support from GROTAs beloved community and our devout Patreon Supporters.
